About Us
History
Our story starts way back, when velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla.
The Somalia NCD Alliance (SNCDA) is a national network of organizations committed to reducing the burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Somalia. Established in December 2024, SNCDA brings together healthcare professionals, civil society, academic institutions, and policy influencers to drive awareness, advocacy, prevention, and policy change related to NCDs such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and mental health conditions.
What sets us apart is our collaborative approach to tackling the NCD epidemic. Through strategic partnerships with healthcare professionals, government agencies, and international organizations, we create comprehensive solutions that address cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, chronic lung diseases, and mental health conditions at both grassroots and policy levels.
Our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision: to ensure no Somali suffers from preventable NCDs due to lack of awareness, access, or advocacy. Today, we operate across all federal member states, having trained over 200 health workers and directly impacted thousands of lives through evidence-based interventions and community empowerment programs.
Vision
A transformed Somalia where preventable NCDs are significantly reduced, with every citizen having access to comprehensive healthcare services and preventive care. We envision empowered communities with robust healthcare systems where individuals can lead healthy, productive lives free from preventable chronic conditions.
Mission
To serve as the leading voice for change in Somalia’s NCD landscape by advocating for the rights and well-being of individuals affected by non-communicable diseases. We build resilient communities through education, prevention strategies, and evidence-based care while bridging healthcare gaps and creating partnerships that empower individuals to take control of their health.
